Growing up I heard so many times “fashion repeats itself,” and when I was a kid I didn’t believe my mother. As with all things I didn’t trust my mother on, I was wrong.

Just this season we’ve seen a billion throwback trend options from different decades sweeping across the fashion scene. From overalls to culottes, from fringe to midi skirts, there’s no shortage of updated throwbacks in a fashionista’s arsenal. My two favorite throwback trends are tied between midi skirts and flared jeans. I love the blend of feminine meets bohemian depending on the occasion. But both are WAY too hot right now (amiright?), so I’m solidly rocking the overall trend over and over this summer.

What about you, what’s your favorite throwback trend this season? Or maybe even more interesting, which one do you HATE? Let me know in the comment section, I’d LOVE to hear from you 🙂 PS- How sick are these paintings by artist Bradley Theodore? This is in front of my favorite NYC restaurant, Galli.

  1. I really like the combination of Bahamian and feminine. Amazing…

    • Ha, it’s funny how that works with moms 😉 I’m down for the 90s, and super stoked the 80s are almost here again.

I’m currently looking for the perfect Fall/Winter pair. I think the jeans are pretty tough to find a great pair of, because really how many people have legs, hips, and waists that perfectly match their top half? Gotta keep up the search!

  2. What a cute overall outfit. I haven’t seen very many overalls worn but it sure was a go to back in elementary school for me.
I would love to invite you to my weekly link up that goes live every Tuesday at midnight (EST). Every Tuesday I feature my favorite 5 bloggers/fashionistas from the previous week. I would love to have you stop by.

    • That’s a huge compliment Heather! I take all my own photos with a DSLR and a remote or self time so I’m always working to improve. I thought this background was so neat, and it’s right at one of my favorite restaurants so it is a win-win haha.

    • It’s funny how that happens, I always wonder since we recycle so many trends so rapidly these days what are we actually going to be known for as the “quintessential 2010-2020 look” years down the road. And thanks!
